THE PERILOUS FIGHT, or;
The War of 1812 in Ballad and Anthem
Experience the War of 1812...In the words of those who were there.
Francis Scott Key and other figures from the past spring to life to honor the heroes, both sung and unsung, who endured our young nation’s struggle with Great Britain,
Using stage effects from an earlier time, New Old Theater has devised a fast moving world premier spectacle compiled from patriotic songs, poetry, and plays relating to the War of 1812. The iconic moment of the war—the bombardment of Fort McHenry that inspired The Star-Spangled Banner—is depicted with a moving panorama on stage during the thrilling finale!

The Original and Authentic Victorian Séance
Will return in spring 2012
It's time travel all over again...with spirit!-
Step back into 1860 when spiritualism was on the rise across America. Meet Leah Fox Underhill who, in the 1800’s, helped popularize spirit communication in America.
Enter a spooky world of mediums, spirit whispering and mystery. This was a time when many people suddenly discovered their own hidden ability to break through the veil, often after attending a "spirit circle".
Experience a realistic representation of a Victorian spirit circle in 1860 including the mysteries of the beyond during the dark séance. New Old Theater and the Preservation Society have duplicated all the sights and sounds of a real Victorian spirit circle or "sitting". You may be surprised how convincing our simulation is, considering that we use 19th Century special effects. Everything is as it would have been 150 years ago.
Every guest fully participates, and we are using a genuine site from 1765, the oldest residence in Fell’s Point and old Baltimore. Many believe this house to harbor departed souls! It’s just possible that actual spirits may attend our intimate gathering. Would you be able to tell the difference?
Our tales of the beyond, psychological trickery, and mystifying visual effects will convince you that you have been in contact with actual spirits!
